Summary | 0002649: Kernelupdate may fail using special kernel versions
Description | Kernelupdate may fail using special kernel versions
Steps To Reproduce | Christian, I do not understand how the partition size would affect this. Initially, with the partition size set to: -------------------PARTITION CONFIGURATION-------------- Current settings: Total : 128 MB OS-Image: 70 MB FFSDISK : 20 MB, Part type: FAT SECOND : 38 MB, Part type: EXTENDED Using the NetDCU-USBLoader utility, I am able to update the xip.bin file without any problem. For updating from a SD card using the two-step process, if the current WEC 7 image installed is one that I have created, then the KernelUpdate process works without any issue. But, if the current WEC 7 image is one from the “My F & S” download page (e.g. XIPIMX6_C7E_V150_BETA_150602.bin), then the KernelUpdate process fails with the error mentioned: Action: Checking size of kernel partition Result: Platform not supported I tried changing the partition size as: -------------------PARTITION CONFIGURATION-------------- Current settings: Total : 128 MB OS-Image: 108 MB FFSDISK : 20 MB, Part type: FAT SECOND : 0 MB, Part type: EXTENDED With this change, I still observe the same behavior. Updating the xip.bin from NetDCU-USBLoader utility works fine. When updating from the SD card using the two-step process, if the WEC 7 image on the board is one that I created, then the KernelUpdate process works without any issue. But, if the board contains a WEC 7 OS image obtained from your download page, then the KernelUpdate process fails with the same error message. Thanks, Matthew Lam
