Summary | 0002425: armStoneA9 has sporadic errors, most probably when booting
Description | The armStoneA9 sometimes shows errors when booting, sometimes also when regulary running.
Steps To Reproduce | Start board several times. Sometimes it shows kernel errors or even hangs.
Additional Information | We believe that it has something to do with the frequency scaling in conjunction with the PMIC power chip. Either when increasing speed from a power save mode, the frequency is increased too quickly before the power is fully up again, or the power is actually set wrong because the i.MX6 internal power LDO is also active and reduces the voltage further down. Usually setting the CPU frequency scaling governor from "interactive" to "performance" will help. Then the CPU is running in full-speed mode only. This can be done either at runtime with echo performance > /sys/devices/system/cpu/cpu0/cpufreq/scaling_governor or even better by reconfiguring the kernel with "make menuconfig", and then go to "CPU Power Management" -> "CPU Frequency scaling" -> "Default CPUFreq governor". Here select "performance" instead of "interactive". Now recompile the kernel and install it on the board.
